Articles

As you already know, TYPOlight uses articles to organize content elements. These articles can then be displayed in a particular layout section. Thus, you can not only publish or move a set of related content elements at once but also manage workflows in a multi-user (authors) environment.

Open the articles module of the example website. As you can see, there is one article per page assigned to the main column. You can create an unlimited number of articles that will be displayed one below the other (published articles only).

Articles

Now, open article Home by clicking the edit icon. You will be taken to an overview page which shows the parent element and the child elements (similar to the style sheet module). The following paragraphs explain the most important parameters of the parent element.

Show article in

As mentioned a few times already, articles can be displayed in different layout sections (columns), provided that an articles module has been assigned to them.

Keywords

While the description of a page is entered in page structure module, keywords will be cumulated from all articles of a page. Make sure not to use the same keywords for all articles because some search engines might interpret repeated keywords as SPAM and will not index the page at all.

Publish article

Just like pages of the page structure, articles have to be published as well to be shown in the front end. You can either generally publish or unpublish an article or choose to publish it for a specific period of time only. Thus, you can e.g. announce an event just until the day it takes place.
