This issue occurres if the the system time on either the server or your local computer is not correct. Whereas Firefox is able to synchronize client and server time and set the correct expiration date of the authentication cookie, MSIE seems to simply rely on the server time. This means, if the server time is more than 5 minutes behind the time on your local PC, you will not be able to login to TYPOlight.

To fix this issue, make sure to set the correct server time on both the server and your local computer.
