TYPOlight Open Source CMS Categories of Services

There are four different categories of services that a TYPOlight partner can provide. Each category has certain requirements that have to be met to become a partner and that are checked upon registration to ensure a high standard of quality. Most TYPOlight business partners provide a lot more than just TYPOlight services, e.g. product design, printed media, corporate identity, marketing, reseller hosting or support, so you might as well get everything you need to run your website with TYPOlight from a design partner.

Design partners

Partners in this category are experienced in setting up websites with TYPOlight. They can e.g. import existing websites or layouts into TYPOlight or build new projects with it.

Training partners

Partners in this category are experienced in conducting TYPOlight trainings in which you learn the concepts of the system and how to use it. A training can e.g. be a public seminar or a company workshop.

Programming partners

Partners in this category are experienced in developing software with TYPOlight. Each partner has created at least two custom TYPOlight modules that we have checked regarding knowledge of the framework and quality of the code. A programming partner can develop new extensions based on your individual needs.

Hosting partners

Partners in this category provide hosting services as part of their core business. They e.g. offer standardized hosting packages, individually configured servers or domain name registration.  TYPOlight can be run without restrictions on their servers, which means in particular:

• You do not require the Safe Mode Hack
• You can use the Live Update Service
• You can use the Extension Repository
• The iconv or mbstring extension is available
• Apache mod_rewrite is available

Note that reseller hosting does not qualify to become a TYPOlight hosting partner.
